Review of RS125 Mesto Knapsack Sprayer

Review of RS125 Mesto Knapsack Sprayer

If you're looking for a reliable, easy-to-use knapsack sprayer with professional-grade features in a compact design, the Mesto RS125 is an excellent choice. With a 12-litre tank, robust construction, and 6 BAR maximum pressure, it delivers consistent performance while remaining comfortable to carry and operate.(For those needing more capacity, the RS185 offers all the same features in an 18-litre version)

Unboxing & First Impressions

From the moment you unpack the RS125, it's clear that this is a quality product. The packaging is bright, informative, and well-constructed - strong enough to protect the sprayer during transit. While the RS125 doesn't have a handle integrated into the tank like the RS185, a cut-out in the box provides an easy way to carry it.

Inside the box, you’ll find a comprehensive 125-page instruction manual, including 8 pages in English. It covers everything you need from safety guidelines and assembly instructions to maintenance and troubleshooting tips.

The sprayer itself comes securely packed. Lifting the tank from the box is simple, and it immediately feels sturdy and well-designed. The components - hose, lance, and handles - are all of high quality and complement the professional look of the tank.

Easy Assembly

Assembly is quick and straightforward. With the shoulder straps already attached, you only need to put together five main parts. Don’t forget to check inside the tank for a small bag containing essential fittings.

Here’s a quick step-by-step guide:

  1. Attach the hose to the handle and tank. (Don’t forget to slide the locking threads on first)

  2. Fit the metal lance to the handle.

  3. Install the pump lever, which can be mounted on either side for left- or right-handed users. The lever includes an extension with three adjustable length and width settings for comfort.

  4. Insert the locking pin at the base of the tank to secure the lever. (Make sure you’re in a well-lit area as lining up the holes can be fiddly in poor light.)

All in, assembly takes just a few minutes - even quicker if you’ve assembled similar sprayers before. And while the manual is detailed, the diagrams are especially helpful if you prefer visual guidance.

Practical Use & Performance

The RS125 is designed with usability in mind:

  • A 140mm wide neck makes filling simple.

  • The bright yellow lid is easy to twist on and off.

  • A removable plastic filter prevents debris from clogging the nozzle - we recommend keeping it in place for hassle-free operation.

Once filled, the sprayer sits comfortably on your back thanks to the padded, adjustable shoulder straps. Just make sure to clip them into the base of the tank before wearing.

A few pumps of the lever will activate the pressure gauge on the trigger handle - a feature we love. It’s a simple but useful tool that helps you maintain optimal pressure (up to 6 BAR) during use. Once pressurized, pull the trigger and you’re spraying with precision and control.

Optional Accessories

The RS125 is fully compatible with our 3.2-metre and 5.4-metre telescopic lance extensions. Connecting them is simple with the appropriate adapter.

Tip: Lock the trigger on the telescopic lance in the open position, and use the main sprayer handle to regulate flow - it's the easiest and most efficient way to operate over longer distances or heights.
